It’s sometimes refreshing to find reminders that YouTube can be used for good.

The Face Project

Being one of the creatives on the Community Christian Church staff is a blast, but sometimes the ideas are big and the time to make the ideas happen is short. So…I need some help.

CCC’s next series of topics is titled, “The Dream” and the main graphic is going to be a mosaic of people’s faces…I just need the faces. I need a few thousand photos to make this work, so if you’re thinking, “There are probably enough images by now…” you’re probably wrong.

If you’d like to take part, Please email a 1″x 1″ 150dpi photo(s) of yourself (preferably just your face) with the subject “the face project.”

The finished artwork will be available sometime next week.

Please no random images from internet searches or anything because we don’t have the rights to display or reproduce them.

Inconvenient Groundhog Truths

Apparently the Seer of Seers, the Prognosticator of Prognosticators, Punxsutawney Phil was one of the few celebrity animals to attend screenings of Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truth. Yesterday Phil prognosticated an early Spring. And yes, global warming helped him reach his conclusion.

Phil is more qualified than most to comment on the effects of global warming. According to the official site, the current Phil has been in service since 1887 and vividly recalls the -18ºF Winter of 1918, and the -25ºF Groundhog Day of 1961.

On the list of people named Phil I trust…there’s only the groundhog. However, I hope he’s wrong this year. Therein lies the problem. According to the Inner Circle of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club, Phil’s meteorological knowledge has not failed in 119 years.

So it would seem that if Phil is wrong, the fabric of our fragile universe will be torn beyond repair. However, I am willing to sacrifice the universal Spandex for some more snow because I haven’t had the chance to snowboard this Winter.

Apparently this fabric has been damaged before*, and has been repaired with moderate success.

Give me six more weeks of Winter!

*Phil the groundhog and Tom Cruise have both been guests on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Phil knew how to behave, but the word on the street is that Cruise still fears his own shadow.
